The EPA published a regulation January 15, 2021, the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), to better protect communities from exposure to lead in drinking water. The LCRR requires public water systems to investigate the water service line materials within the system, including both the system-owned and customer-owned water service lines. The customer-owned water service line is generally from the water meter to
the structure connection. In an effort to comply with this requirement, NWCWD will be distributing customer surveys in the coming weeks to coordinate with customers to identify and document the customer-owned water service line material. Here is the link to the LCRR.
